Job Title: Audiovisual (AV) Systems Maintenance, Design, and Installation Contractor
Location: Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), Monterey, CA
Job Description: The contractor will provide comprehensive audiovisual and videoconferencing system services for classrooms, conference rooms, labs, auditoriums, and other meeting spaces on the NPS campus. This includes the maintenance, repair, design, installation, and modification of 134 existing integrated AV systems, as well as new systems installed during the performance period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain AV systems, including signal, control, data, power cables, and mounting hardware. Replace faulty components and reconfigure systems as necessary.
- System Modifications: Design and implement modifications to existing AV and videoconferencing systems to meet evolving requirements. This includes system configurations, firmware updates, and custom solutions.
- Planning & Advising: Collaborate with NPS staff to identify AV needs and recommend solutions. Prepare system designs, cost estimates, and equipment quotes. Provide guidance on system upgrades and new installations.
- Installation & Configuration: Install and configure new AV components. Prepare system components for installation, including wiring, mounting, and system interconnections. Create custom configurations and provide configuration backups.
Technical Requirements:
- Expertise in AV and videoconferencing systems, including Extron, Panasonic, Cisco, Shure, AVer, and Vaddio components.
- Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining AV systems, including control systems, cameras, and audio equipment.
- Ability to design Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) and create system designs, diagrams, and equipment lists.
- Experience in system installation, including hardware/software configuration and custom installations.
Performance Expectations:
- Response Times:
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Response within 2 hours and on-site by 1400 hours the next business day.
- Planning & Design: Response within 24 hours, with appointments scheduled within 5 business days.
- Installation & Configuration: Response within 24 hours, with appointments scheduled within 5 business days.
- Certifications:
- Authorized Extron Electronics Reseller (higher-education pricing)
- Authorized Panasonic Dealer (higher-education pricing)
- Extron Control Professional
- Extron AV Associate
Security Requirements:
- Must complete a favorably completed NACI or T1 investigation, including an FBI fingerprint check.
- Compliance with DoD security protocols and CAC eligibility.
Minimum Equipment/Systems:The contractor will work with various AV equipment including video displays, signal processors, PTZ cameras, microphones, control systems, and custom wiring solutions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proven experience with AV system design, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and provide technical solutions for evolving AV needs.
Additional Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, with proper background checks.
- Ability to adhere to security protocols while working in a DoD environment.
