Trillium Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Louisville, KY. Our client, a well-established HVAC contractor, is expanding their Commercial Construction team. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations and ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.
The Project Manager will oversee the daily operations of assigned projects and work closely with the Operations Manager to establish performance standards for training and evaluating departmental team members.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensure that mandatory profit and growth goals are consistently met or exceeded.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct the overall operations of assigned projects in alignment with company standards.
- Ensure compliance with local and state codes.
- Assess the strength of the project team and maintain a workforce that aligns with business activity.
- Promote a customer-focused culture and build strong relationships with contractors.
- Monitor site safety, maintaining a MOD rating of <0.9.
- Maintain clear and positive communication with customers and field personnel.
- Track and uphold Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) set by the construction team.
- Manage and maintain contract documentation, including submittal logs, RFIs, change order requests, and transition extra work into profitable change orders.
- Ensure installations meet contractual requirements and align with project budgets.
- Take full responsibility for achieving the successful and profitable completion of assigned projects.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Schedule site personnel efficiently to minimize overtime.
- Track monthly gross margin contributions of the Construction Department and report findings to the Operations Manager.
- Use company reporting systems to maintain accurate records of material and equipment usage.
- Actively support departmental safety standards and ensure compliance with all safety rules.
- Conduct regular meetings and site inspections with team members.
- Review and approve change orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist the Sales team with technical questions and applications.
- Ensure all site personnel adhere to the company dress code and customer relations policies.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, plans, specifications, contracts, submittals, operating and maintenance manuals, procedure manuals, and job budgets.
- Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts for paperwork and job-related formulas.
- Capacity to work effectively under time pressures, heavy workloads, varying customer demands, and backlog constraints.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and standing.
- Must be able to stand for six (6) to eight (8) hours per day (with possible overtime).
- Capability to handle heavy objects such as ladders, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Good visual and spatial perception.
