Trillium Construction is seeking a Vice President of Engineering for a direct hire opportunity with a well-established steel fabrication company specializing in the design and build of bulk storage solutions for the agriculture, industrial, and commercial sectors.
This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the engineering department while actively participating in project design, client interaction, and executive-level planning. The ideal candidate will have strong structural or mechanical engineering experience, team leadership ability, and a collaborative, solutions-driven mindset.
This is an on-site role local to Gridley, KS – relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
-Lead and grow the engineering team to support long-term company scaling goals
-Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Production to deliver manufacturable, cost-effective solutions
-Manage your own projects from concept through production
-Provide pre-engineering support for sales and estimating teams
-Oversee project schedules, drawings, calculations, and shop release documentation
-Implement and maintain engineering standards (ASME, IBC, ANSI, OSHA)
-Participate in the executive leadership team and contribute to strategic planning
-Mentor junior engineers and help build a high-performance engineering culture
Annual salary is $110,000 – $140,000 (based on experience).

Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
-10 years of industry experience (dry bulk or similar industries)
-5 years in an engineering leadership role
-Experience with CREO Parametric 3D and Risa 3D preferred
-Strong structural analysis background
-Skilled communicator and cross-functional collaborator
-Creative problem-solver with a hands-on leadership style
-PE or SE license preferred but not required
-Willing to work on-site; relocation support available
