Draft Designer

Purpose of Position: This position is responsible for creating precise technical drawings and plans used in the design and development of various projects, products, or structures. Your expertise in drafting software and attention to detail will be essential in translating conceptual ideas into detailed blueprints that meet industry standards and project requirements.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

• Produce detailed technical drawings, plans, and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on project specifications and requirements.
• Work closely with engineers, architects, and other professionals to understand project objectives and translate conceptual designs into accurate technical drawings.
• Ensure that all drafted designs adhere to industry standards, regulations, and best practices to guarantee safety, functionality, and compliance with relevant codes.
• Review and revise drawings as necessary based on feedback from project stakeholders, incorporating changes and updates to ensure accuracy and alignment with project goals.
• Maintain organized records of all drafts, revisions, and project documentation to facilitate easy retrieval and reference for future projects or modifications.
• Provide technical assistance and support to project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders during the construction, installation, or implementation phases as needed.
• Identify and resolve design issues or discrepancies promptly, collaborating with relevant parties to implement effective solutions and maintain project timelines.
• Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in drafting technology, and best practices to enhance drafting processes, improve efficiency, and achieve higher-quality outputs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
• Demonstrated understanding of drafting principles, technical drawing standards, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Physical Demands of Position:

• Physically able to lift up to 20 pounds (materials/equipment)
• Effective use of computer, laptop, cell phone and other mobile device to exchange information.
