Seeking a Psychologist Resident at Trillium Family Services’ Parry Center for Children campus in Portland, Oregon or at The Children's Farm Home located in Corvallis, Oregon. Required : Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree from an APA-approved psychology program, with focus on child and adolescent assessment and treatment. Required eligible for psychologist residency per Oregon Board of Psychology rules. Preferred : Two years psychological testing and assessment experience with children and adolescents; experience with multidisciplinary teams treating children, adolescents, and families.
The full-time, salaried position of Psychologist Resident at Parry Center for Children provides direct psychological assessment of children and adolescents, interaction with families and community teams, and clinical consultation to programs within the agency, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. Clients are referred from Trillium programs including inpatient, subacute and residential, day treatment / partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and school-based outpatient programs. Referral questions may include cognitive, developmental, autism, diagnostic, and personality. The ideal candidate can produce high-quality psychological evaluations that respond to referring clinicians’ questions in practical and useful ways to help clients succeed in their goals; can provide feedback to clients, their guardians and other community members that is clear, helpful and accurate; whose clinical work is consistent with the science and ethics of psychology as well as providing value to the agency, our clients, and community partners. An ideal candidate also demonstrates cultural and trauma-informed competence, including the ability to understand assessment results, and the limits of assessment, in a culturally responsive manner; communicate with and make recommendations to clinicians, families, and clients in a way that is sensitive to cultural contexts and to trauma; seek ongoing knowledge and skills for cultural responsiveness and culturally appropriate resources; and maintain resilience and self-care in work with populations and individuals who have experienced trauma. While testing and assessment are the primary focus, other opportunities may include providing clinical supervision, training, individual / group / family therapy, crisis intervention, and contributing to the agency's diversity, equity, and trauma-informed initiatives.
Psychologist resident operates semi-independently, with flexible and generous supervision to meet licensure requirements and support professional development.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned.
About You :
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree from an American Psychological Association (APA) approved clinical psychology or counseling psychology program, with focus on child / adolescent assessment and treatment.
- Eligible for psychologist residency per Oregon Board of Psychology rules.
- Psychological testing and assessment experience with children and adolescents; experience with multidisciplinary teams treating children, adolescents, and families preferred.
