Summary
As a Human Resources Generalist at Trim-Pak, you will play a vital role in supporting our workforce management initiatives and enhancing employee relations. This position is essential to fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that our HR practices align with our company’s values and goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage the recruitment process, including talent acquisition, employee orientation and collaboration with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conduct or acquire background checks, driver verification, and eligibility verification.
- Oversee payroll processing and 401k administration and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Facilitate employee recognition and employee relations initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Support organization design efforts to optimize team structures and workflows.
- Utilize HR software systems such as Paychex for efficient HR operations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of and provide guidance on employee policies, procedures, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and employee relations practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for data entry tasks.
- Experience using Paychex is preferred.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with employees at all levels.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- SHRM certification a plus
