Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Help Desk Technician to provide technical support to our employees and clients, specifically within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and experience supporting IT operations in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to IT support requests via phone, email, chat, or ticketing system.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues in a timely manner.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, handheld devices, and other IT equipment used in a manufacturing environment.
- Support and troubleshoot standard business applications, including Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other commonly used productivity tools.
- Provide on-site and remote support for manufacturing floor IT systems, including shop floor terminals, barcode scanners, production software, and industrial automation systems.
- Troubleshoot and support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP software, and production monitoring tools.
- Assist with password resets, account setups, and user access management.
- Document and track issues, solutions, and resolutions in the help desk system.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate IT personnel when necessary.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on basic troubleshooting and IT best practices.
- Assist with software updates, patches, and system upgrades.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure proper documentation.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in a help desk or technical support role, with at least 1 year in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and common business/manufacturing software applications.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, and remote desktop applications.
- Strong documentation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments, including production areas and warehouse settings.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , ITIL, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
