R&D Design Engineer 13502

Responsibilities:

• Oversee project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
• Generate, prototype, and refine design concepts based on customer needs and engineering criteria.
• Conduct design reviews, perform safety calculations, and ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare technical presentations, commercial literature, and production documentation.
• Develop and execute testing plans to validate designs and product improvements.
• Stay updated on industry advancements and seek opportunities for innovation.
• Coordinate with global teams for equipment integration.
• Handle 3D modeling, drafting, ERP interactions, and Engineering Change Orders (ECNs).

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD systems.
• Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associate s Degree in Engineering Technology with 7 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including DFM and VAVE principles.
• Experience developing and executing product testing and validation plans.
• Familiarity with global safety regulations such as CE, ATEX, and NR-12.
• Hands-on experience with measuring/test equipment, including micrometers, multi-meters, and VFDs.

Desirable Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in design-related fields such as R&D, applications engineering, or manufacturing.
• Experience with plastics processing equipment.
• Proficiency in Design of Experiments (DoE) for process optimization.
• Basic to advanced knowledge of material science (metals and polymers).
• Familiarity with metal manufacturing processes, including forming, machining, welding, and brazing.
• Understanding of mechatronics, Industry 4.0, and IoT integration in manufacturing.
• Multilingual skills (German preferred)
