Description
The Forklift Operator I Position is responsible for moving boxes, totes, and pallets of product throughout the warehouse in a safe, timely, and accurate manner. Staging for production, putting away completed products, and assisting with shipping and receiving tasks as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Operates a gas or electric forklift in the warehouse.
- Performs daily machine inspections while adhering to established safety procedures.
- Moves product to work areas according to production schedule.
- Stacks product in storage areas and loads shipments into trailer(s), container(s), and / or railcar(s).
- Unloads full and partial pallets, wraps pallets when necessary, stages product for loading, and checks pallets for accuracy to order.
- Maintains clean and organized aisles or racks storage, and consolidates partial pallets when needed.
- Labels, sorts, wraps, and ties inventory products.
- Communicates with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
- Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
