School Year 2025-2026: High School ELA Teacher at TAPA: Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts | Providence, RI TAPA: Trinity Academy for the Performing Arts, an academically rigorous public charter school for the arts, seeks a High School ELA Teacher. The ELA Teacher is responsible for student achievement in the area of English Language Arts for our high school students. The ideal candidate is an experienced English Language Arts educator who values the connections between ELA and the arts and brings a thoughtful, student-centered approach to instruction. TAPA’s creative community is enriched by the cultural, religious, racial, ethnic, and linguistic diversity of our neurodiverse families, students, and employees. Demographically, nearly all members of the TAPA student body are people of color, predominantly Latinx, with many students speaking both English and Spanish in their homes. A significant portion of TAPA’s student body identifies as members of the LGBTQ community. We aim to hire staff members who reflect the diversity of our students and families and who demonstrate an understanding of the strengths and experiences they bring. At TAPA, ELA is taught through arts-integrated instructional practices that utilize the green-standard Paths to College and Career curriculum. The High School ELA Teacher teaches four classes, each with 18–22 students. At TAPA, the arts are deeply embedded into the core of interdisciplinary learning. TAPA prepares students to successfully meet or exceed Rhode Island’s graduation requirements and perform at (or above) grade level on all state and local assessments. TAPA meets each student’s individual academic needs using assessment data and continuous feedback while providing clear academic, social, and artistic expectations. At its core, TAPA is a student-centered, caring community that fosters leadership, intellect, self-confidence, and responsibility.
