What are the responsibilities and job description for the Children's Ministry Coordinator position at Trinity Church-United Methodist?

Responsibilities:
- Continue development of personal spiritual life through the practice of spiritual disciplines and growth experiences.
- Sunday School:
- Recruit and support the teachers of the Sunday school.
- Provide for curriculum and supply needs.
- Coordinate the administration of the Sunday school.
- Coordinate special celebrations in relation to children’s ministries, like milestone celebrations, teacher recognition, seasonal activities, etc.
- Coordinate the decoration of hallways, classrooms and bulletin boards.
- Vacation Bible School (or Summer Children's Ministry event)
- Plan, organize and lead Vacation Bible School.
- Recruit, organize and equip teachers and volunteers for VBS.
- Liaise with participating churches and administer registration, publicity and procurement of supplies.
- Nursery
- Oversee nursery operations and ensure Nursery Staff are trained.
- Recruit and train nursery workers and volunteer help.
- Support Nursery Coordinator with scheduling nursery coverage.
- Ensure that cleanliness and safety standards are maintained in the nursery.
- Establish and maintain nursery-specific policies and procedures, seeking approval from Trinity’s Accountable Leadership Board.
- Children’s Ministry
- Wherever possible, minister to children and their families as mentor and guide.
- Provide children with a model of faith, integrity and morality.
- Reach out to children and their families to encourage participation in children’s programs and worship.
- Recruit and develop leaders for children’s ministry, building and supporting teams as needed, resourcing individuals covering Sunday School, Children’s Time, etc.
- Ensure records are kept in regards to participation in children’s programming.
- Assist the Youth Ministry Coordinator with transitioning children to youth ministry.
- Network with other area Children, Youth, & Family leaders and the Wisconsin Conference of the UMC.
- Meet regularly with the Pastor and work as a team member with other leaders in the church.
- Manage funds and accounts related to children’s ministry.
- Ensure a message is prepared and given for Children’s Time during worship services.
- Ensure leadership coverage for events/programs that you helped develop in the case you are unable to attend.
-Safety
- Implement Safer Sanctuaries guidelines for children's programming.
- Train volunteers in Safer Sanctuaries guidelines.
- Guide and support volunteers in maintaining appropriate boundaries in relation to all participants in our ministry.
- Be trained and certified in Trinity’s Safer Sanctuary guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.

Pay: $19.66 per hour
