What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Ministry Coordinator position at Trinity Church-United Methodist?

Responsibilities:
- Be present and build relationships with youth and their families.
- Continue development of personal spiritual life through the practice of spiritual disciplines and growth experiences.
- Develop, grow, and maintain youth programming.
- Recruit and develop leaders for youth ministry, building and supporting teams as needed.
- Assist the Children’s Ministry Coordinator with transitioning children to youth ministry.
- Assist the Adult Ministry Coordinator with transitioning youth to adult ministry.
- Plan intergenerational activities.
- Work in conjunction with the Pastor on Confirmation program.
- Manage funds and accounts related to youth ministry.
- Ensure records are kept in regards to participation in youth programming.
- Promote youth opportunities and communicate effectively with their families.
- Network with other area Children, Youth, & Family leaders and the Wisconsin Conference of the UMC.
- Meet regularly with the pastor and work as a team member with other leaders in the church.
- Ensure leadership coverage for events/programs that you helped develop in the case you are unable to attend.
-Safety
- Implement Safer Sanctuaries guidelines for youth programming.
- Train volunteers in Safer Sanctuaries guidelines.
- Guide and support volunteers in maintaining appropriate boundaries in relation to all participants in our ministry.
- Be trained and certified in Trinity’s Safer Sanctuary guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.66 per hour
Expected hours: 15 per week
