What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secretary position at Trinity Church?
Small traditional Anglican church hiring a part time (~10 hours per week) secretary. (With possibility of ~5 hours per week additional work for our diocese.)
The Secretary assists the Pastor and other parish staff by performing clerical and administrative tasks in the operation of the parish, including producing service bulletins, data entry into bookkeeping platform, paying bills, maintaining parish records and files, other similar and related tasks as assigned, and communications regarding these tasks. The following characteristics and skills are of central importance:
· Proactive attention to detail
· Excellent organizational skills
· Taking initiative to communicate clearly with parishioners and staff, verbally and in writing, with poise, polish, and professionalism.
· Trustworthiness to maintain complete confidentiality as the work involves knowledge of sensitive parishioner information
· Computer and technological proficiency (typing, email, data entry into our online bookkeping platform, organizing parish’s digital files and other digital assets on computer, Word, and Excel including ability to format bulletins and other similar documents, utilizing parish’s Apple MacBook computer)
