Position Summary
Trinity College seeks to hire a Program Coordinator for Retention Strategy and Transition Programs for a three-year position, focused on enhancing the experience of First Generation college students. The Program Coordinator will report to the Director of Retention Strategy and Transition Programs and is responsible for the operational and administrative support of an exciting, scaled-up “Trinity F1RST” initiative. This position will help lead innovative onboarding, student success, and retention efforts for Trinity’s First Gen student community. This Coordinator will help organize, market, host, and assess programs and activities aimed at helping students navigate college transitions. They will support the development and administration of robust peer mentor cohorts. This role is ‘student-facing’ including listening to and guiding students, as well as helping to train, support, and supervise peer mentors and student workers.
The Program Coordinator will curate, maintain, and analyze data to improve Institutional understanding of the student experience and effectiveness of interventions. This work is all-inclusive and ranges from problem-solving with students to preparing presentations, completing event logistics (ordering food, supplies, set-up/clean-up), and researching best practices. Regularly, the Program Coordinator will collaborate with partners across campus—Event Operations, Student & Community Life, DEI, Academic Affairs, Health & Wellness, Accessibility Resources, and Institutional Research—to connect students with key resources and initiatives to help minimize barriers to persistence, promote self-advocacy, and cultivate a skill set for college and post-grad life.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Candidates should have successfully earned an associate’s or bachelor’s level degree and have at least 2-3 years relevant work experience. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years’ relevant experience, including excellent administrative skills and demonstrated proficiency with mathematics/analytics. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to serve and engage with a diverse customer/audience: students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, public. The Coordinator must be adaptable and resourceful and quickly and creatively solve problems. Candidates should be student-centric, enjoy working with numbers, and be dedicated to the mission of higher education.

Education:
- Associate’s Degree (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Work Experience:
- 1-3 years served in advisory capacity to high school or college students in education or community setting, e.g. school, camp, CBO (required)
- 3-5 years served in advisory, coaching or supervisory capacity to college students (RA, TA, Coach), e.g. college/university, boarding school (preferred)
Other desired qualifications include:

- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with quantitative data analysis and data visualization (Excel, Tableau, Canva)
