This role is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer at the career stage readiness for Environmental / EHS Manager level at a manufacturing site. It is a high visibility site with no initial direct reports. The select candidate will ensure the Manufacturing Site complies with all applicable regulations (internal and external) with respect to Safety, Health, Environmental, Process Safety, and Security. Key Responsibilities : Sets and establishes the vision for Safety (both occupational and process) for new Biomedical site with multiple stakeholders.Shares the initiatives, timelines, and costs necessary to achieve that vision. Tracks the progress against milestones.Provides technical expertise to all departments to help evaluate risks and cost-effectively resolve Occupational Health and safety issues, including recommendations from PHAs, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.Verifies that occupational health, safety, and security information are accessible, completed, and current.Develop PSM and / or RMP standards and management system for a new PSM covered Biomedical facility.Works collaboratively with operations teams to ensure the site is in compliance with all elements of the OSHA PSM standard.Function as a Management of Change (MOC) Subject Matter Expert.Fulfill requirements of assigned process safety life cycle (PSLC) role map roles.Interface with regulatory agencies as it relates to PSM, as needed.Lead and participate in investigations of workplace incidents, utilizing Apollo root cause analysis, Tripod analysis, and developing appropriate corrective actions.Daily interaction with area engineers, process specialists and process leaders.Writes specifications for new equipment required to ensure safe operation of manufacturing processes.Writes SOPS and trains operating personnel on proper use of said equipment. Prepare documentation to provide sufficient information for Project Engineering for detailed specifications for cost estimates and construction.Investigate and implement continuous improvement processes required to improve Safety in manufacturing operations.Provide data for SHE and Security key performance indices and propose improvement actions and recommendations accordingly.Provide leadership and guidance for all SHE and Security supporting committees, including safety committee, first aid response team, spill response team, or any other committee / teams established in support of the sites SHE and Security program.Develop site SHE and Security plan to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and corporate requirements. You Bring : Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.5 years experience in a PSM environment required.Experience working with state, local, and federal safety regulators.Experience in supervising / managing direct reports, contractors, etc. is required.Experience managing budgets, goals, and targets as well as tracking performance indicators is preferred.Demonstrated success collaborating and working in a team environment and coordinating multiple resources without direct supervision is required.The level of education generally necessary to effectively handle the job’s essential functions is a bachelor’s degree in a SHE related discipline.SHE or other operational experience in industrial environment such as chemical plant.Experience with OSHA regulations.Experience assessing operational risks is required.Knowledge of Behavioral Based Safety Programs (e.g. SafeStart) is required.Basic knowledge of RC 14001 preferred.Must have advanced computing skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and an introduction to Microsoft Visio and Access.
