ER Tech - Night shift

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency room environment. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, basic life support, and the ability to perform essential technical skills such as venipuncture and IV insertion. The Emergency Room Technician will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient management and support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the assessment and treatment of patients in the emergency room.
• Perform venipuncture and IV insertion as needed for patient care.
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately.
• Maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent infection.
• Catheterize patients when required, following established protocols.
• Provide basic life support as necessary, responding promptly to emergencies.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure effective communication regarding patient status.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the emergency room environment.
• Utilize knowledge of physiology and medical terminology to assist in patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or similar is preferred.
• Proficient in venipuncture, IV insertion, and catheterization techniques.
• Strong understanding of basic life support principles and practices.
• Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology relevant to hospital medicine.
• Experience working in a hospital setting is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
