Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. This role involves working closely with patients who require various medical interventions and support, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their treatment journey.
Duties
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects.
- Perform IV insertion and manage intravenous therapy as needed.
- Provide care for patients with diverse needs, including those with infectious diseases, behavioral health issues, or requiring ICU-level care.
- Conduct sterile processing of medical instruments to ensure a safe environment for patient care.
- Assist in airway management and other emergency procedures as necessary.
- Support patients with developmental disabilities by adapting care plans to meet their unique needs.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in hospital medicine or medical/surgical nursing preferred.
- Knowledge of geriatrics and the specific needs of older adults is advantageous.
- Strong skills in medication administration and patient assessment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards of nursing practice.
