Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify health concerns and needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV insertion and catheter care.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and assist with gastric lavage procedures when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and health management.
- Monitor patients' progress, report changes in condition, and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in inpatient settings is preferred; familiarity with ophthalmology is a plus.
- Proficient in patient assessment techniques and diagnostic evaluation methods.
- Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to provide senior care with empathy and understanding of age-related health issues.
