Position Summary:
The Resident Care Director, manages the operation of the Resident Care Department including: maintaining standards in resident care services; supervision and oversight of the Resident Care Department staff including training and assigning overall duties in accordance with the residents’ needs; meeting financial and budgetary guidelines; and upholding state regulations/Cornerstone policies and procedures. The Resident Care Director also a valued member of the Community Leadership Team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessments - upon move-in of a new resident and on-going, and as needed per state regulations
- Physician Statement – assist in obtaining from Physician upon move-in of a new resident or if moving from IL to AL
- Service Plans – upon move-in of a new resident and on-going, and as needed
- Chart Set Up and Documentation - upon move-in of a new resident and on-going, and as needed
- Physician Orders - As needed
- Medication Assistance Records – creation and maintenance of routine auditing and monthly creation of new record
- Scheduling of residents for visits from Doctor – as needed upon Family request or when needed
- Scheduling of resident for visits from podiatrist - as needed
- Coordination of resident care with all Third-Party Providers (home health and/or hospice), physicians and families
- Scheduling of x-rays, diagnostic tests, and lab work – periodically upon request from Resident physician
- Medication ordering - weekly & and as needed
- Hiring & Management of care staff – daily
- Scheduling of care staff - monthly schedules, daily staffing coordination
- Coordination of continuing education for care staff
- Assign ADL tasks and responsibilities
- Manage resident care
- In-Service and Train staff
- Manage Physician Orders, medication orders, care plans, and all other documentation necessary to coordinate care for residents
- Audit resident charts
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director
- Manage Level of Care and any changes necessary to facilitate high quality care for residents
- In coordination with Executive Director, assist in the marketing efforts for the community
- In collaboration with the Executive Director, assist with aspects of Human Resources for the community

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Experience managing staff
- High assessment skill
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current LVN/LPN license
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to project a professional image
- Three to five years in senior living experience preferred (Assisted Living specifically)
- Knowledge of nursing theory and standards of practice
