POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Director of Assistive Technology Supports to lead efforts in assessing, implementing, and training individuals on assistive technologies. The ideal candidate will have expertise in assistive technology, a deep understanding of accessibility needs, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Hours: Full-time
Salary Range: $60,000 to $90,000 commensurate of experience
Job Duties, include but are not limited to the following:
Client Support & Training
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' functional abilities and assistive technology needs.
- Develop personalized technology solutions in collaboration with clients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide hands-on training and technical support on assistive devices and software applications.
- Communicate technology concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
Research & Program Development
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging assistive technologies, and accessibility regulations.
- Evaluate and recommend assistive technology products for different user needs.
- Develop and implement organizational initiatives, such as remote support solutions, to address staffing shortages and budget limitations.
Community Engagement & Advocacy
- Serve on committees that advise state officials on assistive technology and funding.
- Present at local and national conferences on assistive technology topics.
- Host TEC Lab tours to educate the community on available technology solutions.
- Provide consultations for individuals and groups outside of Trinity Services.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of person-centered planning and advocacy for assistive technology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity in developing technology solutions.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in using and maintaining various technologies, operating systems, and web platforms.
- Ability to use hand and power tools for device installation and maintenance.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human services or equivalent experience in the developmental disability field.
- Prior experience working with or supporting individuals with disabilities, preferably within a provider organization.
Certifications:
- Completion of one of the following:
- California State University Northridge (CSUN) Assistive Technology Certificate Program
- RESNA Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) Certification
- SHIFT Credentialing and Certification Program
- Equivalent education, certifications, or experience may be considered.
- If not yet certified, must commit to completing the certification (cost covered by Trinity Services).
Technical & Administrative Requirements:
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones, and other assistive technologies.
- Experience with website maintenance and social media platform management (preferred).
- Ability to pass all background screenings and be approved to drive agency vehicles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Capability to load/unload equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfort using ladders, hand tools, and power tools for device installations.
- Ability to complete repetitive tasks (e.g., wire stripping, PVC cutting, kit assembly).
- Occasional long-distance travel for presentations and site visits.
Compensation: 60,000-90,000
