POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Healthcare Assistant collaborates with RNs, Team Leaders, Associate Directors, Network Directors, and clerical staff to provide administrative support and ensure timely and accurate completion of medical documentation. This role supports quality service delivery for individuals receiving care and assists residential staff with documentation, training, and Medicaid billing procedures.
Hours: M-F 8:30-5
Location: New Lenox
Pay: $20.50/hour
NETWORK OR DEPARTMENT:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Schedule, track, and coordinate medical appointments based on annual requirements and individual needs.
- Communicate medical updates and benefits to Network leadership.
- Conduct monthly Quality Assurance reviews of medication bubble pack returns.
- Generate Medication Error Reports from weekly Medication Administration Record reviews.
- Assist RNs with the medication check-in process.
- Support with documentation review, tracking, and filing.
- Assist with assessments and HRST (Health Risk Screening Tool) documentation.
- Provide backup coverage for the transportation coordinator.
- Complete clinical referrals and follow up on visit note appointment requests.
- Ensure timely submission of documentation for billing purposes.
- Stock group home billing binders monthly or as needed.
- Submit completed billing notes into the CIS (Client Information System).
- Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly billing reports to the Associate Director.
- Maintain knowledge of proper billing procedures.
- Train staff on correct billing procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Mental Illness
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Word and Excel; accurate typing skills
- Preferred: LPN, Medical Assistant certification, or an Associate Degree in a related field
