POSITION OVERVIEW:
The primary responsibilities of the Program Specialist include providing intensive and specialized supports for people who have an intellectual disability or mental illness. Program Specialists focus on domains such as personal care, recreation/leisure, vocational, safety, social, and/or community awareness and integration. Program Specialists provide individual supports to persons who have extraordinary behavioral or medical support needs.
The Program Specialist works directly in multiple residential or community day services locations and is assigned to a Trinity network. The working hours for this position are 1:00pm to 9:00pm, 3:00pm to 11:00pm or 4:00pm to 12:00am for the residential sites and 8:00-4:30pm for the community day services. The specific shift is determined by when the department's afternoon shift starts or when the community day services start.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participates and interacts with people supported in various activities as specified in the Implementation Strategy Plans, Skill Acquisition Plans, and Social Transition Plans.- Transports persons served to and from appointments and activities as needed.

- Able to deal tactfully with colleagues, program participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Able to implement goals, objectives, policies and procedures, necessary for providing quality care

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Be able to lift over 40 pounds from floor to waist unassisted
- Be able to push and pull 75 pounds
- Be able to complete deep knee squats
- Be able to push wheelchairs up to 200 pounds
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Operate motor vehicles
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment
- Physical activities that could be used include: driving, balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a human service field or similar
- Valid Driver's License
- Pace Certification
