RESPONSIBLITIES:
The Contemporary Worship Music Leader provides leadership to and oversight of the music ministry for the Contemporary Worship Service. The primary responsibility of the Contemporary Worship Music Leader is to implement comprehensive Christian ministries, both musically and relationally, which will complement the ongoing ministry of Trinity UMC. This will be accomplished through providing opportunities for spiritual, social, and service development for the congregants of the Contemporary Service.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATI ONS:
· 3 years of experience leading worship and a 4-year college degree (preferably in music) OR experience to supplement the college degree (at least 7 years of experience leading worship)
· Strong ability to lead vocally and from a chord based instrument simultaneously (multi-instrumentalists strongly preferred)
· Experience in an administrative/organizational role
· Investment in your personal relationship with Christ and the church, and a willingness to participate in the life of Trinity
RELATIONSHIPS:
1. The Contemporary Worship Music Leader is responsible to the Associate Pastor, who supervises the worship position. Reporting will also be done to the Senior Pastor, Staff Parish Relations Committee, and Church Council.
2. The Contemporary Worship Music Leader will serve as a member of the church staff team. Contemporary Worship Music Leader is to attend weekly staff meetings and assist other staff with the needs of Contemporary Service congregants while keeping staff aware of upcoming events and programming.
3. The Contemporary Worship Music Leader will coordinate with lay leadership and monitor and supervise volunteers as necessary to plan and implement all Contemporary services.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1. Worship
a. Planning Contemporary Service Worship Music.
b. Prepare all musical parts for worship, ensuring that music can be a non-distracting, seamless vessel of worship for those around you
c. Arranging songs (working with the Sound Technician on tracks)
d. Leading band rehearsals (Wednesday nights & Sunday mornings)
e. Recruiting & scheduling musicians
f. Cultivating a space for spiritual growth and maturity
2. Meeting/coordinating with Contemporary Service pastor to plan programming.
a. Sermon series, music, scriptures, special elements, etc.
3. Communicate service order with pastor and staff members responsible for bulletin creation.
4. Creation of Technical worship elements.
a. Weekly graphics
b. Updating the lighting program
c. Updating stage design
5. Lead Youth Praise Band.
a. Build relationship with the Director of Youth Ministries
b. Prepare all musical parts for worship performances
c. Arranging songs
d. Leading band rehearsals (Sunday nights)
e. Recruiting & scheduling youth musicians
f. Cultivating a space for spiritual growth and maturity
g. Working with the pastors and other worship leaders to coordinate when the Youth Praise Band can help lead worship
6. Maintain relationships with volunteers and congregation.
a. Engage in relational ministry with the Contemporary congregation before and after service on Sunday morning and throughout the week
b. Plan community/worship events to engage Contemporary Service congregants with each other and the community
7. Collaborate with other music directors, leaders, and programs to help maintain the unity and understanding that we are one church with multiple worship experiences.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
