Housekeeper/Floor Care
JOB DESCRIPTION
Implement facility housekeeping in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents’ needs in compliance with Federal, State, and Local requirements. This position is a safety sensitive position as defined by applicable state law.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in housekeeping or related field preferred.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIRMENTS:
- Skilled at organizing various duties.
- Must be flexible and able to handle change easily and professionally.
- Maintain a positive attitude and be a role model of professionalism and teamwork.
- Communicate with residents, families, physicians, and staff in a professional and tactful manner.
- Must maintain regular attendance.
- Must meet all local health regulations.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and legibly.
- Must be able to work in a state of alertness and in a safe manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB:
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing/pulling, fine hand coordination, ability to understand and follow written/oral instructions and directions; ability to communicate with residents, families, outside agencies and consultants, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to hear and respond to pages, distinguish smells, tastes, and temperatures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assuring resident safety.
- Implement housekeeping policies and procedures to meet residents/ needs in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- Notify supervisor when supplies are needed, equipment is in need of repair, or when areas of facility are in need of repair.
- Use housekeeping supplies efficiently.
- Follow material safety data sheet.
- Operate housekeeping equipment safely
- Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy
- Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Observe infection control procedures at all times.
- Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to policy and procedures.
- Attend all training classes as assigned.
- Assume personal responsibility for following facility procedures related to control of equipment and supplies within the work area.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.
- Observe all facility safety policies and procedures, infection control procedures, and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Identify safety hazards and emergency situation. Initiate corrective action.
- Read and become familiar with the Emergency Management Plan.
