In this role, the Material Handler performs shop order-picking away activities associated with an assigned warehouse area.
- Utilizes the ERP system (BPCS / LX) to perform inventory transactions and inquiries, including the use of mobile barcode devices
- Optimizes storage locations based on part velocity and volume policies
- Acts as backup for multiple areas when required
- Operates mobile equipment, such as forklifts, man-lifts, pallet jacks, to move material
- Assures that material counts are accurately reflected in the system and that material is stored according to defined policies and procedures
- Operates material handling equipment (forklift, order pickers, pallet jacks)
- Able to identify part types and methods of storage associated with assigned area
- Performs put-away and picking functions utilizing BPCS barcode devices
- Maintains accurate stock counts, locations, and product IDs in assigned areas
- Rearrange material as directed for optimization
- Initiates and maintains all applicable paperwork as required
- Follows all safety rules and practices
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
- Performs other duties as assigned
