Job Description:
The Manager A&R Development will be responsible for providing analytical and operational support to the Development organization. This role will work closely with the Development Finance team in East Hanover to ensure accurate month-end reporting, controls compliance, and support of the various business objectives.
Job Activities:
•Contribute to Month-end financial closing and reporting process for the Global Drug Development organization including monthly development accruals and prepaid entries, account reconciliation and analysis, and various reporting schedules.
•Work with the GDD finance team to ensure the Accrual Tool is maintained and calculating accruals appropriately. Collaborate with the finance team to post and review the monthly accrual via the accrual tool.
•Responsible for coordinating and reviewing the results of the quarterly vendor confirmation process.
•Provide analytical and operational support to the Development organization.
•Ensure business partners understand and adhere to financial processes and controls.
•Participate in the preparation of quarterly GDD SOX reports.
•Responsible for the delivery of service levels and SLA/KPI targets for the accounting function.
•Ensure accounting policies, processes, and operating procedures are clearly defined, in line with Group standards, up-to-date, and documented.
•Resolve accounting-related issues as required.
•Ensure all Accounting processes comply with standards and policies (i.e. global processes, Accounting Manual, Financial Controls Manual, Management Authorization Levels, etc.).
Education and Other Requirements:
•Undergraduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
•Advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred.
•5 years of Financial experience.
•CPA preferred.
•Ability to participate in and drive meaningful improvements in performance, quality, and efficiency through system and process innovation and effective project management.
•Ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organization, and build mutually productive business partner relationships.
•Demonstrated understanding of key business fundamentals and value drivers.
•Knowledge of IFRS (GAAP), accounting, and financial reporting requirements, Enterprise systems knowledge (SAP).
•Experience of managing projects driving performance (e.g. ERP implementation).
