Systems Administrator

Scope Of Work
The proposed resource shall be responsible for performing the following tasks:
a. Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
b. Execute system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening in compliance with industry and organizational standards.
c. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
d. Automate routine system administration tasks using tools such as Ansible, Bash, or Python.
e. Configure and maintain Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other related RHEL ecosystem tools.
f. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with all security policies and protect systems from vulnerabilities.
g. Manage storage solutions and ensure effective backup and disaster recovery capabilities.
h. Support application teams by offering guidance on best practices for Linux-based deployments.
i. Maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
j. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incident escalations.
k. Set up Network File Servers (NFS) and manage mount points.
l. Configure cron jobs for both system and application tasks.
Offeror Resource Skills, Experience, & Capabilities:
The proposed resource should demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:
Experience with:
- Working in complex, networked systems with robust networking protocols.
- Administering Unix (AIX) IBM pSeries systems.
- Managing systems and applications, including but not limited to:
- Oracle WebLogic Servers
- Oracle Database Servers
- Progress 4GL/Database Servers/OpenEdge
- Apache Web Servers
- vSphere-hosted RHEL Servers
- Rubrik backup systems
- Oracle Database backups
- PeopleSoft
- Mobius
- Elastic Search
- Oracle OBI
- CVS (Concurrent Version System)
- Red Hat performance tuning and optimization.
- Load balancing, partitioning, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Operating in environments requiring 24/7 availability.
- Supporting application development and troubleshooting.
- Interacting with Red Hat Support for issue resolution.
- Providing support for electronic imaging systems.
Ability to:
- Work collaboratively within a team.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrate leadership and initiative in project execution.
- Provide day-to-day technical support and interface with end users and the helpdesk.
- Apply backup, recovery, and networking methodologies.
- Diagnose and resolve issues across OS, database, and application layers.
Knowledge of:
- Red Hat administration practices, including configuration, performance tuning, and optimization.
