Position Overview:
As a Patient Relations Coordinator, you will work directly with specialty departments to process incoming referrals, coordinate patient scheduling, and facilitate seamless navigation of care within the clinic. You will play a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience by providing clear communication and support throughout their healthcare journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage incoming patient referrals in coordination with specialty departments.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently, collaborating with Medical Assistants (MAs) and providers.
- Communicate with patients to provide appointment details, instructions, and answer questions about their care.
- Assist patients in navigating clinic services and coordinating follow-ups.
- Verify insurance and obtain prior authorizations as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation in the system.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Work closely with providers and clinical staff to ensure smooth patient care coordination.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or healthcare-related certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or patient-facing role preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and scheduling software is a plus.
