About the position...
The Investment Accountant is responsible for handling all accounting and related administrative duties for the Investment Accounting Department as well as assisting to maintain ownership personal tax records and financial reporting. This is a great entry-level position for someone who is or will be a recent graduate this Spring!
- Works in software to handle accounting and reporting duties for approximately 40 Trust, Land Holdings, and Investment entities.
- Prepares accounts payable check requests for AP processing.
- Makes deposits and reconciles bank statements.
- Assists in maintaining complete general ledgers for each entity including required journal entries.
- Assists in preparing year-end work papers and financial statements for outside CPAs and prepares monthly and quarterly financial statements for certain entities.
- Maintains and analyzes all monthly trust investment brokerage statements and related spreadsheets.
- Maintains all trust - outside business investment tax returns, K-1’s, financial statements, and annual budgets.
- Maintains organization and tracking of outside financial statements and budget reports by date.
- Maintains accounting permanent files for each entity and trust outside investment.
- Interface with various lenders, investors and others providing information as needed.
What we are looking for from you...
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required (Degree in Accounting is highly preferred)
- Recent college graduate up to three years of experience preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel
- Experience in real estate/property management industry is a plus
- Experience in Yardi software is a plus
- Experience in SharePoint and One Drive is a plus
- Must possess strong financial analytical skills
- Must possess a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
