About the role
We’re hiring an optical physicist to lead our research on the characterization and application of a novel method for generating multiphoton fluorescence. As our first full-time scientific hire, you will have a high degree of ownership over the company research agenda.
In this role you will :
- Continue optimization of our technology e.g. testing new fluorescent indicators, implementing approaches to decrease power levels, testing different light sources
- Test and characterize novel applications of our technology e.g. lithography, diagnostics, opsins
- Run characterization experiments on various models studying variables like photobleaching, power levels, pulse width, and fluorescence levels
- Collaborate with biologists, chemists, and protein engineers on the development and testing of novel indicators
- Prototype microscopes in collaboration with our optomechanical engineer
- Author technical documentation and scientific publications
- Propose additional applications
- Perform spectroscopy experiments on fluorescent proteins
