Job Summary

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), your main responsibility will be to expand our market presence by identifying and securing new business opportunities in the Austin, TX area (covering a 45-50 mile radius). You will actively participate in outside sales activities, cold calling, territory planning, and relationship-building to generate new accounts. Additionally, you will manage and nurture existing client relationships to grow revenues and meet your performance goals. This role is not remote—BDMs are expected to be in the field or at the office for regular meetings and check-ins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate New Business: Engage in cold calling, prospecting, and face-to-face meetings to expand your sales pipeline.
  • Build Client Relationships: Maintain and grow relationships with current clients through regular check-ins and consultative account management.
  • Market Knowledge: Gain an understanding of the local market, with a focus on logistics (70%), manufacturing (20%).
  • CRM Management: Document all sales activities in Salesforce, ensuring accurate tracking of leads, opportunities, and performance metrics.
  • Territory Coverage: Focus on the Austin area, covering a 40-50 minute radius.
  • Team Involvement: Participate in whiteboard meetings and other team activities at least 3-4 days a week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of sales experience with a strong track record of success.
  • Staffing industry experience is a big plus!
  • Strong outside sales experience and demonstrated ability to maintain client relationships.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle liability insurance.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce for tracking sales activities.

Compensation & Incentives

  • Base salary: $70-75K depending on experience.
  • Incentive plan: Potential to earn significant commissions based on gross profit (GP) generated from new accounts 6.5% GP for new accounts up to 18 months.

Work Environment & Travel

  • In-person role: This position is not remote. BDMs are expected to be in the office or in the field meeting clients.
  • Travel: 30-50% travel within the Austin area.
