The Laboratory Director is responsible for overseeing multiple laboratory locations or a high-revenue single-site operation. This position ensures the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of microbiological and chemical testing services. The role also involves direct client interaction, operational oversight, and financial responsibility. The Laboratory Director collaborates with the corporate leadership team and manages laboratory operations, including delegating responsibilities when necessary.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee laboratory operations to maintain quality, efficiency, and turnaround times.
- Ensure excellent customer service by providing timely and accurate responses to inquiries.
- Lead hiring, performance evaluations, and professional development of laboratory staff.
- Manage financial performance to ensure profitability.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards and corporate quality management protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Uphold laboratory safety programs and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise special projects based on client requests.
- Stay informed on industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory changes.
- Conduct periodic staff audits to ensure compliance with established methods.
- Communicate with clients regarding laboratory capabilities, results, and pricing.
