Summary of Position:
We are currently seeking a Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the organization. This individual will oversee daily accounting functions, support strategic decision-making through in-depth financial analysis, and play a key role in driving efficiency and compliance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in managing financial operations in a dynamic environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations Management
- Direct day-to-day accounting functions, including AP, AR, job cost tracking, and general ledger maintenance.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable tax laws and coordinate timely preparation of tax filings (e.g., sales tax, business income tax).
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Generate and analyze financial reports to highlight trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development of budgets and forecasts by working closely with various departments.
- Conduct cost analyses and recommend strategies for cost control and revenue enhancement.
- Identify financial risks and propose corrective measures to maintain fiscal health.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies and procedures to ensure GAAP compliance.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to financial regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
Accounting Systems & Technology
- Manage and optimize accounting systems to enhance accuracy, data integrity, and workflow efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend technological upgrades or changes to support continuous improvement.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist with annual financial audits and collaborate with external auditors as needed.
- Provide financial input to support long-term strategic planning and organizational growth.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis projects at the request of senior leadership.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with construction accounting knowledge preferred (job costing, WIP, etc.)
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Proficiency with accounting software (Sage, Premier, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership capabilities
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
