Payroll Manager Responsibilities:
- Oversee and review weekly and bi-weekly multi-state payroll process
- Execute and manage payroll system including payroll functions related to vendors
- Manage payroll team and provide training and guidance
- Oversee multi-state payroll tax process
- Maintain interfaces between the payroll system and other systems in the organization such as General Ledger, 401(k) Plan Administrator, Human Resources, etc. Download information from payroll system, summarize and format into excel spread, audit and translate for upload into General Ledger system. Set up 401k loans for payment from payroll. Develop and recommend policies and procedures to enhance the quality and efficiency of operations
- Create and update quarterly and annual payroll reports and additional accounting reports for Finance team
- Support Executive Leadership as needed
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- 5 years multi-state payroll experience, 3 years payroll management experience
- Lawson experience (preferred) Someone who has Dayforce - plus (ADP, Paycheck, payroll software) experience required (consider someone without DF experience)
- ERP (Enterprise System Resource Planning (General Ledger System) experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred) or related discipline
- Needs to have experience with 401K (loans/deductions/pre-tax post tax/audits/non-discrimination reports)
- Must have experience with tax regulations and able to find resources.
- This position is very heavily deadline driven!! Must be flexible to work holidays (at the end of the year especially). Able to work with internal/external auditors
- Ideally we want someone located in the DMV, will work possibly two days a week in the office (more often during the training period)
- Current knowledge of state and local withholding requirements
- Strong leadership and exceptional customer service skills
- Successful track record working in a fast-paced setting balancing multiple projects with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary : $105,000 - $130,000
