Job Summary
TriSource is partnering with a nonprofit in Rosedale, MD seeking a Housing Specialist to play a crucial role in assisting homeless individuals in securing safe and affordable housing. This position involves working closely with clients to assess their needs, provide guidance through the housing application process, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Assignment is strictly temporary for ~90 days
Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ housing needs and financial situations.
- Assist clients in completing applications for housing assistance programs, including Section 8 and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties.
- Negotiate with landlords and property managers to secure suitable housing options for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, services provided, and outcomes achieved
- Collaborate with social workers, addiction counselors, and other service providers to develop comprehensive support plans for clients.
- Stay informed about local housing market trends and available resources to better assist clients.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree minimum with experience working with at-risk individuals
- Proficiency in crisis management and crisis intervention techniques.
- Ability to pass background check and have a driver's license
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, landlords, and community partners.
