What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Use Disorder Counselor position at TriSource?
TriSource is looking for a Substance Use Counselor to work in a brand new 50 bed substance abuse detox facility in Middle River, MD. The Substance Use Counselor will provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to assist recovering individuals in preventing relapse and promoting long-term recovery.
Schedule: Flexible, looking for both full time and part time. Schedule will require some nights and weekends.
Pay Rate: $60-$80K/Year (based on experience, degree, and licensure)
Education and Experience
- Minimum of Associates Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Human Services or Addictions. Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field with two or more years in a AOD or mental health setting preferred.
- Licensed or Certified as a SUD Counselor: CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LCADC, LCPC, LCSW. Graduate level counselors (LGPC,LGADC, LGSW) welcome to apply.
- Experience in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Treatment: Bring prior experience in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, with a preference for experience in detox practices.
- Crisis Management Skills: Proficient in providing support to clients during moments of crisis, equipped with effective verbal de-escalation techniques.
- Minimum of 2 years of non-internship experience treating substance use disorders in a residential treatment center or outpatient facility .
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct confidential, quality assessments, that are gender-responsive and trauma-informed, utilizing ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Use a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery.
- Conduct individual, group, and family sessions, using evidence-based modalities and interventions.
