Job Summary and Qualifications

The Medical Staff Coordinator serves as a liaison between the Hospital and Credentialing Processing Center (CPC) on processes related to initial appointment, reappointment and clinical privileging.

What you will do in this role:

• Serve as the primary liaison between the Education Department and Medical Staff Services in relation to Advanced Practice Professional Students.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Academic Affairs Department and Medical Staff Services in relation to Observation requests.
• Participate in facility evaluation of current needs surrounding Advanced Practice Professional students and observers.
• Facilitate review, assessment, and authenticated documentation of an evaluation of each application and request for observation and student rotation.
• Facilitate review, assessment, and recommendations on a quarterly basis with facility Medical Executive Committees.
• Utilize “paper-lite” procedures

What qualifications you will need:

• Associate’s Degree preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology required
• 2 years experience as a Medical Staff Coordinator or Credentialing Specialist required
• Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Professional Medical Staff Manager (CPMSM) and/or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred
• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with physicians and physician office staff
• Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
