We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Track and Field Coach to join our team at Triton High School. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Coach in developing athletes skills, organizing practice sessions, and fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. The assistant coach will support the overall track and field program, helping to ensure student-athletes are prepared both physically and mentally for competitions.Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning and conducting daily track and field practices for athletes of varying skill levels.Work with the Head Coach to design and implement training plans focused on developing specific events such as sprints, distance running, jumps, throws, and relays.Provide individual coaching to athletes to improve performance and technique.Motivate athletes to achieve personal and team goals.Assist in managing and supervising athletes during meets, both home and away.Collaborate with the Head Coach in organizing and executing track and field events and competitions.Ensure the safety and well-being of athletes during practices and meets.Help track athlete progress and provide regular feedback to athletes and their families.Attend all mandatory meetings, events, and training sessions as required.Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring everything is in good working condition.Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive culture among athletes.Assist in other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.Qualifications: Previous experience in track and field coaching or participation at the high school, collegiate, or club level is preferred.Strong knowledge of track and field events, techniques, and training methods.Ability to communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff.Strong organizational and time management skills.Must be committed to the development and success of student-athletes, both on and off the field.Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive, supportive environment.Must pass a background check and complete any necessary certifications (CPR, First Aid, etc.) as required by the school or district.
