Purpose
As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting principles. You will prepare financial reports for review by senior management, manage payroll processing, oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, and maintain the general ledger. Additionally, you will play a key role in recommending and implementing improvements to financial systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare financial reports for review by the Financial Controller and CEO.
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.
- Enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures, and initiate corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare B&O reports and filings in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Process payroll accurately and timely.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring entries are posted correctly and promptly.
- Perform HR tasks as needed, including handling new hire and termination documents.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure timely invoicing and payments.

Experience/Education
- Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, 10-key by touch, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Experience with QuickBooks and CRM software is a plus.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations.
Experience Desired
- Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or technology industry preferred.
- CPA certification or actively pursuing certification.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in financial management software.
- Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and enhancing financial controls.
