Construction Estimator
TC is looking to hire a knowledgeable, goal oriented, organized, self-motivated, responsible; individual who is willing to take the lead on Estimating projects of all sizes and scopes.
- General Job Description
- Estimate project from start to finish (Bid to Buyout).
- Fully take off all aspects of a project and analyze drawings to incorporate all items needed for a full, complete, and comprehensive bid / proposal.
- Be able to communicate with subcontractors and vendors on all scopes of works.
- Be able to price, procure, coordinate, and schedule materials and products to the jobsite to meet the project timeline.
- Solicit bids from subcontractors that incorporate the full aspect of that subcontractor’s scope of work.
- Analyze and interpret subcontractor and material vendor quote breakdowns.
- Implement and send out all invitation to bids.
- Organizing all bid documents from budget plans, to bid plans, to addendums, to final construction set.
- Other requirements
- Interpret plans and specifications.
- Perform quantity takeoffs.
- Put pricing to GC self-performed items.
- Create RFI's during bid process.
- Experience / Education
- 5 to 8 years minimum estimating experience in civil construction sector.
- 5 to 8 years minimum field experience working direct on civil projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field of study is preferred not required
- Fluent in all Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Microsoft project, Etc.).
- Proficient in takeoff and estimating software programs.
- Able to fully interpret construction documents (Plans, Specification, Submittals, etc.)
- Have the basic understanding of Civil construction
- Work Location
- This position requires working direct from the main office on a daily basis.
- It will also require periodic visits to project sites for pre-bid meetings and project evaluations.
- Motivation
- Goal oriented and does not require micromanagement or daily motivation to get the job done.
- Willing to put in additional hours if needed to complete the bid on time and not at the last minute.
- Possess a leadership work ethic and lead by example.
- Has to be willing to put in the effort to win bid.
- Takes pride in their work product.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $84,007.00 per year
