What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant position at Troon?

Schedule: Part-time, up to 3 days a week.
General Purpose:
Manages and processes Accounts Receivable functions for the HOA and Golf Club Provides Accounting related administrative assistance for HOA and Golf Club
Essential Duties:
- Adheres to all Troon accounting standards and best practices.
- Oversees the Accounts Receivable function to include:
o Provide support to Truist Bank for annual assessment billing for HOA and Golf Club
o Processing month end member billing, interest billing as necessary
o Maintains the member deferred revenue schedules
o Printing and mailing member statements
o Answering member inquires
o Processing member payments
o Adjustments to member accounts
o Preparing deposits
- Oversees the Accounts Payable workflow in conjunction with AvidXchange, General Manager, Department Heads and Corporate Accounts Payable (if applicable)
o Responsible for invoice batching into Accounting system
o Responsible for payment batching between Accounting system and AvidXchange and AvidPay.
- May assist with daily, weekly, monthly, annual reports. i.e. DCCR, updating the club checkbook, updating the club expense tracker (by department), etc…
- Assists with questions from the Controller or Shared Accountant related to various month end and balance sheet accounts.
- May assist with month end close, reviewing financial statements, and printing reports for General Manager and Department Heads.
- Maintains record keeping, filing systems and processes daily mail.
- Assists with certain HR functions in regard to new employee onboarding as needed.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job
- The associate may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of property management system.
