Pay: $19-$21 hr.
Position Description:
The Equestrian Stable Tech Program Assistant is responsible for all aspects of the daily care of horses and animals at the center and maintain the facilities. This role includes running and overseeing equestrian programming, including pony rides, children’s and adult lessons, and camps, under the guidance of the Equestrian Director. Additionally, the assistant will help with shows, Pony Club, and clinics. Administrative responsibilities include retail sale, maintaining inventory for the retail store, and supporting the Equestrian Director with various tasks as needed. The position requires a hands-on approach to horse care, light veterinary work, equipment operation, and handling a variety of horses in various weather conditions.

Essential Job Functions:
• Lead by example and promote the core values, characteristics, employee constitution, and decision-making processes at Oldfield.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Oversee the setup, planning, execution, and teardown of all equestrian programming and activities.
• Perform daily horse care, including feeding, stall cleaning, turnout, and grooming.
• Identify and address basic illnesses, injuries, or behavioral issues in horses, following the guidance of the Equestrian Director and veterinarian.
• Maintain the equestrian center, including pastures, horse stalls, and common areas.
• Prepare horses for rides and ensure they are well-groomed and ready for customer interaction.
• Assist the Equestrian Director in managing the farrier schedule and coordinating care needs.
• Maintain accurate billing, including processing ride appointments and transactions using the POS system.
• Conduct monthly inventory for the Equestrian retail store and support the Equestrian Director in managing product orders, sales, and stock levels.
• Familiarity with Jonas’s software to create SKUs, receive products into inventory, print labels, and conduct sales.
• Coordinate and organize pony rides for guests, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate tasks effectively with others on the team.
• Communicate with the Equestrian Director about supply needs (e.g., feed, medication) and place orders as requested.
• Drive truck and horse trailer as needed for transport.
• Greet and assist customers with a positive, helpful attitude, and manage ride registration procedures.
• Run errands as necessary to support the operations of the center.
• Complete any additional duties assigned by the Equestrian Director or management.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and adhering to industry health and safety standards.
• Uphold and promote the standards set by Oldfield Club in all aspects of the role.
Job Requirement:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of 5 years horse husbandry, and handling skills in a professional equestrian environment with English style instruction experience with work references.
• Knowledge of equine and human first aid.
• Ability to recognize a sick or lame horse.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, following instructions completely with attention to detail.
