Palm Harbor Golf Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Golf Course Equipment Operator I. The Golf Course Equipment Operator I is a key member of the course maintenance team and is responsible for the care and maintenance of the golf course. The Golf Course Equipment Operator I will report to the Superintendent and must be willing to take direction from the Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent, and Head Mechanic.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course by weedeating, edging, walk mowing, pulling weeds, and more as directed by the Superintendent
- Must be willing to learn how to operate tools, methods and materials used in grounds, landscaped area construction and maintenance work
- Must be willing to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations with attention to detail and safety to themselves, golfers, and fellow employees
- Must be willing to keep equipment clean and assist with keeping maintenance facility clean
- Ability to give oral and written instructions
- Must be willing to learn seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation
- Must be dependable
Responsibilities:
- Operates motorized vehicles
- Maintains clean and organized works areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
- Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas
- Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
- Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed
- Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
- Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
- Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
