Role Overview:
As the Executive Chef, you will be the creative force behind Copperstate’s kitchen, designing innovative menus that highlight local ingredients, bold flavors, and seasonal specialties. You will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu planning and food preparation to maintaining exceptional standards of food quality and presentation. This is a leadership position that requires a passion for culinary excellence, a commitment to high standards, and a desire to shape the direction of a new, exciting restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, inspire, and manage the kitchen team in a positive, productive environment.
- Develop and execute creative, seasonally-driven menus that reflect the restaurant’s ethos and elevate the dining experience.
- Ensure consistent and exceptional food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and cost control to optimize food costs and minimize waste.
- Work closely with front-of-house leadership to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Mentor and train kitchen staff, fostering a culture of growth and development.
- Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events, tastings, and promotions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and continually seek ways to innovate and improve.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume, upscale dining environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- A passion for locally sourced, sustainable ingredients and farm-to-table cuisine.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Creativity and a strong understanding of flavor profiles, presentation, and modern culinary trends.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
