Troon is seeking an experienced Technology Manager to drive the implementation and support of innovative technology solutions across our managed properties. This role is critical in overseeing technology projects, conducting site assessments, and providing strategic consultation to General Managers and key staff on technology-related initiatives and budgeting.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a managed IT environment, demonstrating proficiency in gathering project requirements, determining actual needs, and creating project documentation leading to equipment and labor definition, and purchase requirements, IT budget planning, and vendor management. This position requires a proactive, highly organized professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and excels in building strong relationships with the customer base, internal teams, and external technology partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as technology project manager for Troon-managed properties.
- Gathering project requirements, determining actual needs, and creating project documentation leading to equipment and labor definition, and purchase requirements
- Conducting, and leading meetings focused on gathering project requirements and determining actual needs.
- Oversee technology procurement to ensure cost-effective, efficient, and timely purchases.
- Manage lifecycle planning and annual IT budget development.
- Support Troon Technology Services (TTS) with project development, documentation and procurement, and during implementation
- Conduct on-site assessments and oversee technology initiatives at Troon-managed locations.
- Establish and maintain strong business relationships with General Managers and key property staff.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with technology vendors.
- Educate Troon-managed properties on technology standards, services, and best practices.
- Maintain and update comprehensive technology reports.
- Manage technology support systems, tracking databases, and correspondence records.
- Monitor and track open IT support tickets at assigned properties to help assure communication and resolution.
- Foster effective interdepartmental collaboration to ensure alignment with organizational technology goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in a managed IT environment.
Practical experience gathering project requirements, determining actual needs, and creating project documentation leading to equipment and labor definition, and purchase requirements - Practical experience conducting, and leading meetings focused on gathering project requirements and determining actual needs.
- Practical experience with desktop management applications and IT productivity tools.
- Proven ability to develop, maintain, and manage IT budgets.
- Strong understanding of computer networks with the ability to assess, interpret, and document existing environments, as well as planned and desired needs.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and technology service providers.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management, multitasking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Travel required to Troon-managed properties for on-site assessments and project oversight.
