Position Overview:
Trophy Point Investment Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to provide comprehensive support to our Loan Workout & Special Servicing Manager. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in legal documentation, loan servicing, and real estate finance who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The paralegal will assist with legal research, documentation review, and case management related to complex or non-performing loans, foreclosures, and unique asset resolutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing and drafting workout agreements, forbearance documents, payoff demands, and loan modifications.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain legal files, including borrower correspondence, lien releases, and collection records.
- Conduct legal research and support in reviewing statutes and regulations related to lending, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and debt recovery.
- Support the Special Servicing Manager in tracking delinquent loans and ensuring documentation is complete and compliant.
- Coordinate with internal departments (title, legal, accounting, loan servicing) on special servicing files.
- Prepare packages for external counsel or third-party servicing partners when legal escalation is required.
- Maintain logs for litigation, settlements, borrower negotiations, and other special servicing events.
- Help monitor timelines and deadlines for legal and regulatory compliance.
- Review title and lien documentation to support asset recovery or disposition.
- Draft internal summaries and reports for leadership on loan resolution efforts and legal matters.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a paralegal or legal assistant role, preferably in real estate, lending, or financial services.
- Experience with loan workouts, foreclosures, title/lien review, and/or default servicing strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with legal procedures and terminology, particularly in lending and debt recovery.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to manage multiple files and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Tech-savvy; experience with legal databases, Microsoft Office Suite, and cloud-based file management tools.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
