Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee all aspects of Trove's HR functions. This role will involve managing payroll, compensation, employee onboarding, training and development, performance management, employee relations, compliance with employment laws, and acting as a bridge between management and employees. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of HR experience, expertise in working with HRIS systems, particularly Paylocity, and a strong understanding of various HR functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration:

  • Oversee multi-state payroll using a third-party provider, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

  • Understand and manage compliance with various state and federal payroll requirements.

  • Review payroll data regularly to ensure accuracy for employees across multiple states.

  • Provide expert guidance and answer questions related to payroll for both employees and leadership.

Benefits Administration & Compliance:

  • Lead the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee offerings.

  • Manage benefits renewals, ensuring competitive and cost-effective plans are in place.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal leave policies and employee benefits regulations.

  • Serve as the go-to resource for employees seeking clarification or support on benefits and leave policies.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefits laws and regulations, including changes to state and federal benefits policies.

HRIS & Payroll System Management:

  • Utilize Paylocity’s HRIS/Payroll/Benefits modules (3 years of experience required) to manage and track payroll and benefits data.

  • Collaborate with the HR team to streamline processes and ensure the efficient functioning of the HRIS system.

Employee Relations:

  • Work closely with management to address and resolve payroll and benefits-related employee concerns, along with any other employee related inquiries.

  • Collaborate with the HR team to handle complex employee relations issues when they arise, ensuring that payroll and benefits concerns are managed effectively.

Training, Development, and Performance Management:

  • Support the design and implementation of training programs to enhance employee skills and career development.

  • Assist with performance management initiatives to help employees grow within their roles and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Strategic Support & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies that enhance payroll, benefits and HR systems in line with organizational goals.

  • Ensure adherence to both state and federal compliance requirements, including tax withholdings and other regulatory obligations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for any necessary travel between Trove’s office locations (Boston, New York, Stamford, etc.) as needed, approximately every other month.

  • Will oversee 1 Human Resources Generalist.

  • Will report to VP of HR.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Human Resources

  • Extensive experience with multi-state payroll, benefits administration, and compliance.

  • Advanced proficiency in Paylocity (3 years required), particularly in the Payroll, Benefits, Compensation modules.

  • In-depth understanding of state and federal leave policies and employee benefits laws.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage payroll and benefits-related challenges.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll and benefits issues clearly to employees at all levels.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

  • Must live within a commutable distance of our downtown Boston office.

  • Ability for occasional travel to other office locations (approximately every other month).

Location:

  • Based out of our downtown Boston office.

  • The role will require you to be in the office 4 days a week for the first 4 months, transitioning to a hybrid schedule after that ( 3 days in office, WFH 2 days).
