Position: Accounting Assistant, Troy Rehabilitation and Improvement Program, Inc.(TRIP)
Classification: Full time permanent, On Site/In Office
Required hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM Monday to Friday
Reports to: CFO/COO

Position Summary:
Working closely with the CFO/COO, the Accounting Assistant will enter, and process all checks and ACH payments, enter and deposit all incoming receipts, assist in monthly close processes, verifies and maintains tenant security balances, and proposes monthly adjusting GL entries, distributes mail as needed. This position also monitors office supply needs and assists with other staff and auditor needs as requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains stakeholder good will by processing outgoing payments in compliance with financial process memos and procedures in a timely manner.
- Improves organizational financial health by ensuring timely payments and deposits; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in all phases of work. Sorting out the most important information when dealing with voluminous amounts of information. Utilizing this information to perform efficient, and relevant financial assistance.
- Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Maintains financial systems by entering, verifying, and reconciling data.
- Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications, coordinating information requirements, and proposing operational changes to management.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Ensures that all required information for specific financial deadlines is available, accurate, and timely.
Accounting Assistant Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of Non-Profit Accounting, Grant Management and Real Estate Development. Quality Management, Problem Solving, Process Improvement, Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Financial Skills, Self-Starter, Ability to work with in a Team Environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Microsoft Dynamics SL or similar industry software experience is preferred.
- Real Page or similar industry software experience is preferred.
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
