What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Instructor - TROY 1101 position at Troy University?
Adjunct faculty members are employed to provide specific courses on an as-needed basis. Contracts for adjunct faculty members are issued on a semester/term basis. Adjunct Instructors hold the responsibility for the management of courses taught. Adjunct Instructors are expected to be available for a reasonable amount of time for each course taught to counsel students regarding course work.
In Class Teaching Percentage Online Teaching Percentage Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for undergraduate positions must possess a Master’s Degree in the teaching discipline, or have a Master’s Degree with a concentration (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours or 30 graduate quarter hours) in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates for graduate positions must hold a terminal degree in the teaching discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous on-line teaching experience preferable with the “Blackboard” learning management system. Teaching experience in traditional classroom environment also preferred. Prior professional experience in field or a related field desired.
