What are the responsibilities and job description for the Night Auditor/Front Desk Clerk position at Tru By Hilton?
We are looking for a part time night auditor to work just 2 nights a week with the possibility of additional regular desk shifts.
Pay: $15-$17.50
The Night Auditor is responsible for computing, recording, and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records. The night auditor will also serve as a guest service agent in terms of handling any guest check in and check out procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Keeps accurate accounts of cash, checks, and credit transactions
- Handles confidential information, including guest records, with a high degree of integrity.)
- Verifies room charges and rates; verifies register has appropriate starting cash
- Manages daily paperwork including occupancy report, guest list, cash drawer summary, balance sheet, account summary, history file, and housekeeping report
- Performs and documents security walks on a regular basis
- Handles all internal control items as hotel policies and procedures dictate
- Makes daily deposits (as applicable)
- Records and makes all wake up calls properly
- Implements proper procedures in emergency situations
- Completes laundry as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
- Ability to multi-task and effectively communicate with guests
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
- Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan
- Knowledge of, and ability to, appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures

- Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly

Education and experience:
- High school diploma
- Accounting background preferred.
- Previous hotel experience desired.
- 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
